Think your .22LR can reach out and ring steel at 300 yards? Prove it. The Dawson Creek Sportsman’s Club is hosting the Long Gong .22LR Competition on June 20, 2026. This unique rimfire match pushes shooters beyond the typical distances and into a true test of precision, patience, consistency, and wind reading. This is not your average plinking day. Competitors will engage AR500 steel gongs at both 200 and 300 yards, battling bullet drop, wind drift, time pressure, and the fundamentals of marksmanship. Whether you are a seasoned rimfire shooter or simply looking for a new challenge, this event is built to test your skills while having a great day at the range with the shooting community. • .22LR rifles only • Open sights and mounted scopes permitted • Eye and ear protection mandatory • All firearms must arrive cased • Chamber flags required when rifles are not in use • All shooters must follow Range Safety Officer instructions at all times.
