About
The Kingston and District Trap, Skeet, and Sporting Clays Club has been a fixture of Ontario shotgun shooting since 1973. Located at 1250 Italia Lane just outside Kingston, the club operates year-round on a dedicated outdoor shotgun facility and welcomes visiting shooters and members from other clubs at any skill level. Trap, Skeet, 5-Stand, and Sporting Clays are all on offer, and the last two are where the club really shines. 5-Stand puts five shooting stations in a line, with a bank of 6 to 8 clay-throwing machines downrange launching targets in every direction: crossers, incomers, springing teal, rabbits, and true pairs. Shooters rotate through all five stations, firing at a different sequence at each one. No two rounds feel the same, which makes it one of the most engaging and unpredictable games in shotgun sports. It is also a natural first step for anyone curious about Sporting Clays. Sporting Clays takes that unpredictability and scales it up. The club's 10+ station course winds through wooded terrain, presenting targets from angles and distances that mimic real hunting conditions: flushing pheasants, crossing ducks, low rabbits. Often called golf with a shotgun, you move through a course, read the terrain, and adapt to each station. If you have never shot it, it is worth making the trip just for this.
