Incorporated in 1946, the Prince George Rod & Gun Club is one of British Columbia's most established shooting facilities, operating TWO outdoor ranges west of the city. The Hartman Range, located off of Highway 16 in the Beaverly area, features a 100 and 200 meter Centrefire range, two covered Handgun ranges, two Action Bays, four Shotgun fields, and a 100 metre Rimfire range. The Blackwater facility, located approximately 25 minutes southwest on Blackwater Road, offers ten Action Bays, and one of the longest public ranges in Canada: a 1400 meter range complete with 120+ steel targets for members designed for all manner of precision rifle shooting. This 1400m range is home to the club's ELR (Extreme Long Range) Program which not only encompasses Centrefire rifles, but also ELR Rimfire as well as PRS. The club also supports a wide range of competitive disciplines including IPSC, Silhouette, Sporting Clays, Trap and offers training and courses for new and experienced shooters alike.
